Frozen Pages
Hi,
I'm using the latest version of Power BI Desktop. I work with multiple report pages, and suddenly one of them freezes — it stops refreshing properly. When I switch to another page, the tab changes, but the content displayed is still from the frozen page. The only way to fix it is to close Power BI and reopen the file.
Has anyone experienced this issue or found a solution?
Thanks in advance!
quickbi , This happens when you have a Windows patch missing. Please make sure the latest Windows patch is installed. If required, reinstall Power BI.
Not new, but similar issue was reported in past- https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Issues/Power-BI-Desktop-freezes-when-saving/idi-p/4607143
If needed log an issue too from https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Issues/idb-p/Issues

Hi quickbi ,
Sometimes it’s related to graphics drivers or certain visuals on the page.
A couple things you can try:
-
Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date (sometimes switching off “hardware acceleration” in Power BI settings also helps).
-
If you’re using any custom visuals, try removing them to see if that fixes it.

Hi quickbi ,
Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.
This issue is not uncommon and can be caused by a few things:
-
Windows Update – Make sure your system is fully up to date. Missing patches can sometimes cause freezing behavior.
-
Graphics Driver or Rendering – Try updating your graphics drivers. Also, go to File > Options > Options > Global > Preview features, and turn off hardware acceleration to see if that helps.
-
Custom Visuals – If you’re using any custom visuals on the page, try removing them. Some poorly optimized visuals can freeze rendering.
-
Power BI Version – Ensure you're using the latest Power BI Desktop. If needed, uninstall and reinstall it fresh.
-
Report Corruption – Rarely, a specific page might be corrupted. Try copying the visuals into a new page and deleting the original one.
Best Regards,
Tejaswi.
