Hi
Power BI Desktop worked well until last Friday, the 1st November. Then all the files which I try to open, gives this error and I have to "kill" the application via Task Manager. How do i fix this; the Microsoft store shows that I have the latest version.

I checked the Windows Update, everything was fine. The uninstallation and installation helped. Thanks for the advice @amitchandak.

Hi @Anonymous Actually, the same problem occurs with all the files made before the version update - and an additional problem came, too, please read this post: https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Desktop/Formatting-Column-Tools-not-available-in-Power-BI-Version-2-137/m-p/4268805#M1341100
This means - I'm totally stuck with Power BI and really appreciate your help how to make Power BI work properly again.

Hi, @katina
Thanks you for your reply.
Do you mean that this error occurs as soon as you open a previously created pbix file? Or is it an error that occurs after some operation?
Have you used someone else's latest version of Power BI Desktop to open your pbix file? Do you get the same error?
After installing the latest version of Power BI Desktop, you can clear the cache before opening Power BI Desktop and see if the same error still occurs.
If the error still occurs, perhaps you can try downloading a previous version of Power BI Desktop to open your pbix file to see if the error occurs.
I hope my suggestions give you good ideas, if you have any more questions, please clarify in a follow-up reply.

The error occurs right after I open the file, I cannot do anything. And then I have to "kill" Power BI with the Task Manager. There is also the weird thing that I cannot see the column tools at all when selecting some field from the table view, and in the model view - I cannot see any tables in the data model. BUT I see the data in the table view and the visuals the report view...
Windows is updated and nothing pending there.
Where I can load the previous version of Power BI?

@katina , Pleae make sure there is no Windows update/patch is pending. These type of error happens because of that. Even after update if this does not work. Uninstall and install Power BI and Try again.
If that does not please log an issue - https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Issues/idb-p/Issues
