Formula bar disappearing - unable to edit measures

Usually after editing a calculated column, the formula bar totally disappears in PBI desktop. Here I have a measure selected and no way to edit it.

I'm on Version: 2.142.928.0 64-bit (April 2025). This issue looks like it's been reported a few times and despite apparent updates and fixes (and a weird comment about it being "ported to SU11" which I don't understand at all) I can't find any recent information about this and whether it's still a known bug.

Helllo @chris1579 ,

Thanks for clarifying. Please try using a Power BI version prior to the April release and check, If the issue still occurs. If the issue persists even after that, I recommend raising a support ticket with Microsoft for further assistance.

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.

Could you please ensure that you're using the latest version of the Power BI Desktop?

If the issue still persists after updating, we recommend raising a support ticket with Microsoft so the engineering team can take a closer look.

Maybe a stupid question but where would I get this? If I look to the current downloadable version it's the 2.142 build I'm already on

Hi @chris1579 ,

That’s not a stupid question at all , it’s a very common one!🙂

If you're using Windows 10/11, I recommend getting it from the Microsoft Store, as it will auto-update for you:

I've actually done that and I'm still on that earlier build. Could be a geography thing?

Hi @chris1579 ,

If you're not able to download the latest version of Power BI (May release) yet, could you please try downloading the previous version and test your scenario on that?

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/fundamentals/desktop-latest-update#download-older-version...

Once the May release becomes available, you can then download and switch to the latest version.

Did you not read my initial post? That's the version I have....

Hi @chris1579 ,

Could you please recheck the initial post you shared? From the initial post, it appears that the version you're using might be: 2.142.928.0 64-bit (April 2025) . Please let me know if I’m misunderstanding anything.

The link you sent me just had info about that exact release:
April 2025 Update (2.142.928.0)

So is your suggestion that I try a version prior to the one I'm on currently, rather than just "prior to the May release"?
