Formatting standard card / KPI card

Hi,

I am very new to PowerBI so please excuse what is probably a very basic question.

I am having trouble formatting the values on a card.  I have created the card with a formula (a new quick measure) and the card shows the correct value ($0.2213).  I need to show this as a percentage 22.13%.  I can't see any option under the paint roller icon that allows me to format the text differently.  I can resize the font to my correct size.

Trying something else, I created a KPI card using the same formula and it shows the value correctly of 22.13%.  However the font is huge (must be the default 27 point I think).  I can't see any option anywhere that allows me to format the card to the desired 14pts.

Also, several of my cards have $ signs attached to the values whereas others do not.  Again I cannot see any option to change this format.  Is this controlled from the data sheet behind the report?  If so, can the data in the columns be formatted to include / exclude the $ signs?

Many thanks,

Glynn

    Hi ghammond09 ,

If your ribbon is like below, after selecting a Measure/Column, go to "Modeling". Then, you can find Formatting field.

    Hi ghammond09 ,

Select the Measure or Column which you want to modify the display format , then do something like below:

  • Hi Icey,

    Thanks for the reply.

I do not have column tools on my ribbon when I select the quick measure, ony visual tools.  I did not create columns, just measures.  Selecting a column value does not change anything either.

    Thanks,

    Glynn

      Hi ghammond09 ,

The principle is the same. When you select one measure in the Fields on the right of the screen, there is a Measure tool, similar with Column tool.

My Power BI Desktop version is 2.79.5768.721 64-bit (March 2020). Your version of Power BI Desktop may be earlier. It is suggested to upgrade to the latest version.

      Best Regards,
