Hi
I have a matrix visual as shown in image below . I want to give different/alternate background colour to only the header fields of the rows i.e Project name , Duration (in days) and Go Live date AS SHOWN IN THE image
I dont want any change in the values section i.e the gannt chart and month names
Is this possible. Really appreciate any help with this

The Specific column shows only field for values i.e the right hand part ....Just one field . It doesnt show header fields i.e the fields on the left
@ashwinkolte, I believe your looking in the Matrix visual but I suggested Table visual. Please go through all steps as I mentioned in my previous response.

I dont think I can use a table visual . I am showing a Gantt chart hence I want Year-month as different columns . Table colums will give me year-month values in a single column or else I will have add those columns manually . I want those columns to be addded dynamically when there is a new date falling in subsequent months .
I would suggest to use custom Gantt Chart by MAQ. So that you will get lot of custmisation at visual level. Coming to your question(by post) Power BI Matrix visual natively doesn't support for part of column(row) headders conditional formating. Still if you want to use Matrix visual then use Text boxes(with specified text and background colour) where you need to hilight the text with Yellow colour and group them together.
Gantt Chart by MAQ URL: https://appsource.microsoft.com/en-us/product/power-bi-visuals/WA104381364?tab=Overview

I dont see an option to change formatting of row headers even in Gantt Chart by MAQ if I am not missing anything, Am I ?
Hi @ashwinkolte,
Power BI Matrix visual natively doesn't support for row headder conditional formating but there is a workaround. Instead of Matrix chart you can use Table Chart and follow the below steps.
1. Go to the Specific Column(1) > Apply Setting to(2) > Select the specific/required column from Series(3) drop down > Enable the button Apply to headders(4) (By default it enables Apply to values make sure it should be turn off) > Select the Background color(5)
Thanks,

@ajaybabuinturi Thanks for the reply . But this work around will apply one background colour to all rows of header. I want to give alternate row colours
