Hi all,
I have a SSAS tabular model (SQL Server 2016) and I connect to it with Live Connection (Direct Query).
So, I can create measures in Power BI Desktop and use them.
My purpose is to let the final user (on PBI Desktop) use only measures that I create developing SSAS and to don't allow him to build his own measures, because I can't trust them.
I want to know if there is some way to forbid o block the button of creating measure in this kind of model.
And if I use SQL Server 2012? Someboy knows if by default with 2012 it is blocked?
Thank you all.
Best,
Lorenzo.

@Anonymous
how will the user be view the data in power bi desktop or in the power bi service?
if in the power bi service i would think giving them read only permission would resolve that issue.
in power bi desktop i dont think there is anyway to do that that i know of.

Hi @vanessafvg,
They will use Power BI Desktop to create dashboards.
And if I use SQL Server 2012 to build SSAS Tabular? It is the same in Power BI Desktop?
Thank you.
@Anonymous is what the same? if they building their own dashboards in power bi desktop as far as i know they will be able to create their own measures if pointing to SSAS , there is no setting to switch it off as far as i know.
