Hi everybody!
I am trying to use the "Flow Map" custom visual unfortunately I ran into a problem below. I hope you can help me. Have tried reaching to the custom visuals owner weiweicui, unfortunately he/she is not replying to the discussion board for this custom visual.
I only have 5-digit US zipcodes origin and destination but when I updated it in the Fields section it is going to other countries other from US. Is there a way to limit it to the US only? As I understand it goes to other countries because there are similar zipcodes used by other countries.
Appreciate your kind help.
Thanks and best regards,
Mark
Hi @markefrody
Could you give me an example of your dataset
and share the screenshot how you use "Flow Map" custom visual (which columns add to each field of the visual)?
Besides, you could read this guide article regarding how to use "Flow Map" custom visual.

Hi @v-juanli-msft (Maggie),
Thank you for your reply and also send the link for the "Flow Map" guide. Unfortunately I was not able to find a solution in the guide.
Below is the sample data I am dataset I am using, how the flow map looks, and also the fields which I used.
The above zip codes should be all for United States. Aside from that, I have no other location data.
As you can see on the map above, some of the line goes out of United States.
Appreciate if you can provide assistance in limiting it to the United States only.
Thanks and best regards,
Mark
Hi @markefrody
postal/zip codes are not unique.
Each country has its own system of post codes, and they sometimes do overlap.
You are supposed to add columns which show the name of the destination country or latitude/longitude in the map visual.
Best Regards
Maggie
Hi @v-juanli-msft (Maggie),
Thanks for your suggestion. Have tried putting "United States" and "US" in the "Origin name" and "Destination name" in the Field box but it does not limit the coverage to United States only. I also changed the "Data Category" to "Country/Region" to no avail.
Is "Origin" and "destination" name fields refers to country code instead? Unfortunately I don't have data for "Origin" and "Destination" longtitude.
Appreciate your continued assistance.
Best regards,
Mark
