Filtering out 'Other' with a slicer

Hi All

I have a rather large dataset of customer purchases, one of the column labels is 'CustomerName'. Within the column is tens of thousands of names as well as the name of 'Other'. Immaterial customers are grouped into other, it comes this way from the database.

 

What is the best way to create a slicer so that users can see the data with 'Other' or to remove the 'Other' part of it?

I am suspecting i need to create another table that links to the customer table and then filter on that but i've had little success

    CustomerType = IF([Customer Name]="Other", "Other", "All Listed Clients")

     

    Create a slicer with these options

    You're kinda asking 2 things.  You want to see Other but you also want to remove it?

    You can create a slicer that has Other omitted by creating the slicer from the Customer Name column.  Then in the Filters on this visual for the slicer, choose Advanced Filtering and choose is not Other

     

    This only removes Other from the slicer though, as you can see Other still appears in the table.

    But you can do the same thing with the Filters on this page or Filters on all pages

    Drag the Customer Name field to the Filters on this page and then exclude Other.  Now,both the table (and any other visual) and the slicer do not show Other.

    Is this the kind of thing you were after?

      Sorry. I wasnt very clear. 

      The slicer should show 'Other' and then like 'All Listed Clients'. That way users can choose if they see the 'Other' client in the lists. The reason we would want to remove it at times is because the other is normally larger than most others.
