Filtering a visual based on cell values in other columns

I have a data set that records the competences for a large number of roles where the columns list the comptence, it's description, the descriptions of the level of competence and the roles. The rows list the competences. Each role column shows an 'x' where the competence applies to that role. See example below.

In PowerBI I want to be able to show the competences and descriptors that are relevant to the role where an 'x' exists. 

So for instance, exclude the rows that are blank for role 1, then switch to exclude the blank rows for role 4 etc.

Preferably in a dynamic way where the role is selected, or less preferably by creating a new report page for each role.

I am open to any and all ideas of how to go about this.
