Filtering a Fact Table in Power BI from a not directly related Dimension Table

Hi Power BI Community,

I am facing a problem with one of the data model.

I have the data model as below :

DeepakJha23_0-1702452056798.png

D1, D2 and D3 are dimension tables and F1,F2 and F3 are fact tables.

We are creating a report where we are pulling attributes from D1,D2,D3 and measures from F1,F2 and F3.

In the above scenario we are facing the issue where attribute from D1 is not able to filter the measure from fact table F3.

I am not sure if the cross filtering has to be enabled in the data traversing path between D1 to F3 or if we need another dimension in between these two tables.

Thanks in advance.

Hi @DeepakJha23

You need to change the cross filter to both between F2 and D2,you can refer to the following pircture

Then when you filter the D1, the F3 will be affected.
