Filtering Slicer Values

So my question is basically this: In slicers, can you filter out values that have already been selected, based on a table.

 

So in this simple example below, I have two slicers that are filtering a table. My user first selects both Fruits and Veg in the first slicer, then selects Apples in the second slicer. Is there any way to have the Veg now "unselect" or at least disappear in the first slicer? 

 

It seems like right now if a user selects an option its pretty locked in place. Even when I write a measure and apply it in the filters pane, it seems like the slicer selections overrides this.  Has anyone tried this before?

    Hi grayscg 

     

    You may find it a little more beneficial to try using a Hierarchy Slicer to achieve this. You can find this by navigating to the three dots and clicking "Get more visuals". I personally used the one by DataScenarios.

    You can then add your category and food columns and if a user was to select both fruit and veg, when they untick carrots it will also untick the veg category.

    Hey Seanan, thank you for your reply. I thought about doing this, but the report I am working on has 6 different slicers and it just doesn't look and function the way I need it to.

      Hi grayscg ,

      What's your final expected result? How do you want to set these 6 different slicers?  Could you please provide more sample data in your tables (exclude sensitive data) with Text format and your expected result with backend logic and special examples. It is better if you can share a simplified pbix file.
