Filter with single select without value selected by default

Hi guys,

I would like to use a dropdown list filter on my date like following

trungnguyen0000_1-1631969512388.png

trungnguyen0000_2-1631969527665.png

I enable the single select for this filter then 2019 and all of its months are selected by default.

Do you know if I can disable these values by default or use an another filter component ? because at the opening of this report, the users should see data based on the same day.

The users should select only one month if they want filter on date.

Thank you !

Hi @Anonymous

That slicer whouldn't help you the way you want it. I recommend seperating the date (YEAR, MONTH,WEEK...) into different slicers for each of them.

thank you for the answer !

I'm going to use 2 filters (1 for year and another for month) with option multiselection with CTRL hoping that the users won't push ctrl and click many values .

I have a date table which = calendar (min(Invoice[date]),today())

I use the year level of the date hierarchy for the filter on year and it's same for month. I noticed that I have null value in my filters. Do you know why ?

when we reach the next year, my filter will work ?

Yes and it is normal because you have gaps in the column date of the invoice table. Just use the filter pane in the desktop to filter out the blanks
