Filter only one table visual column by other table visuals

Hi all,

 

Apologies for the possibly confusing subject. 

 

I currently have a report with 3 different table visuals on one page. One table shows portfolio names and some financial columns, another project names and finances, and programme names and finances. The relationships are current Portfolio -> Programme -> Project. All finance figures are project level and aggregated up. A very rough example of these visuals are shown below:

 

The requirement is that when a user clicks on a table row in the programme table visual, it filters the portfolio name, but doesn't filter the financial amounts. E.g. in the example above, clicking the programme xyz would filter the portfolio table to only show Portfolio xyz, but would still retain the finances 500, 400 and 900. This logic is also wanted when a user clicks on a project, where both programme and portfolio copy that above. 

 

I unfortunately can't send any sample data due to confidentiality, but am happy to provide as much information as I can.

    Hi Chantine , you seem to be describing the default behaviour of tables in Power BI. For example if you had these three tables:

    And then click on xyz in the Programme table the others update to only show xyz and its related values.

    You can also use the Edit iteractions feature if a table should only filter 1 other. For example if you want Programme to filter Portfolio, but not Project.
