Hello everyone,
I find there are some issues with “filters” on Power BI. I want to know if someone has the same problem or not?
In fact, I used dynamic segmentation for filtering data but I don’t know why it doesn’t work.
PS: all of the fields are in the same table
Problem of “dynamic segmentation”
When I chose one of the streets, number of crime will change. On the contrary, “crime type” doesn’t change.
However, if I chose a crime type, it will filter the other two visualizations.
Problem of “Attribute slicer”
With this filter, I can do a research in the search box.
But once I tape something, and I click “clear all” it doesn’t work.
It can’t appear the original list anyway.
Problem of “text filter”
When I click the litter “erase”, it seems working. In fact it didn’t erase the filter.
So is there someone else has the same issue?
Waiting for your responses,
Sincerely,
Xiaojing
Hi @Xiaojing,
First of all be aware that the interactions between visuals have different result depending on the type of visuals, and this can be define visual by visual, one to one interaction. Check this link with an explanation of interactions.
In your case since you are using a slicer on the Crime Type when you select a bar the slicer will not be affected since this visuals is use to filter out the report.
Do a simple test keeping the visuals you have create a table visual with crime type then just make the selection of the bar chart and the table will change accordingly.
This is not a bug it's a feature due to the nature of the visual otherwise your slicers would be changing on each chart selection and the information of the rest of the visuals also-

I understand how it works now. As for “text filter” and “attribute slicer”, do you have the same problem as me? (the “erase” and “ clear all” don’t work) 🙂

Xiaojing
Hi @Xiaojing,
In the attribute slicer I'm having the same issue, since this is an custom visual for Power BI you need to put it on the issues on this forum.
