Hi!
We have to continuesly review a very large dataset with +23mil. rows . Everything is being sourced from one SQL server with only one table. We do neither own nor control the database, so unfortunately there's not much we can do about the dataset being imported.
What we hopefully can do is how we handle the data in the report. Right now we have a subpage displaying a table with all the data. This takes a lot of time to load, and on the webservice it's impossible to load everyhting before we run into a capacity issue.
We do of course not have to review all 23mil. rows in one go, so we will have to do some filtering to limit the size of the dataset. Right now entering the subpage it just immidiatly starts to load the complete table, but until we set a filter we will have problems with too litlle capacity. Can we somehow force the table to wait until we have set the filters, and clicked "Apply" to these filters before it starts loading the table? So somehow we would like to force filters before querying/loading the data.
What will be the best solution to this?
As I understand, if using slicers the apply button with "query reduction" would be for each slicer and we would probably need 4-5 slicers, and the load of the table still starts immidiatly when entering the page.
Maybe ideally the slicers/filters are set on a "front page", and the controls the subpage?
Hi @nbrandborg
Try the below settings in the options of your Power BI Desktop.
Options->Current File->Query Reduction
Thanks
