Filter Online Data source prior to connection to PBI Desktop (just like SQL connections)

Hi,

We moved from on prem Business Central to Business Central Online and we used to run the SQL scripts on the PBI connector to only bring the data we want to report on. But for Cloud connector, its bringing the FULL data table and we have to then add power query filters on the full data set. This makes the dashboards very heavy and long loading time. Is there a way we can filter the data for online connectors just like SQL connectors? For example, only bring in data from 2020 and not the full table which can include data from decades ago.

When you filter in Power Query at the beginning step of the query, only limited data should be loaded. However, to avoid fetching the whole data, try Incremental Refresh:
