Is there a solution or is this a bug or is there any other way to enable map and filled map visuals.
Cheers
Solved! Go to Solution.
This is a known bug in some versions of PBID.
Update to the Nov 2025 release.
If that doesn't work, you can enable maps in the Report level settings (rather than the Global Settings) - this option is only available in certain builds of PBID.

Hi @iruobe19 ,
The filled map will be retired soon, so it would be helpful if you could update to Azure Maps.
Select "Restore Default Visuals," as this may help. Before doing so, make sure to activate the option shown in the previous image.

Thanks Phil,
I did upgrade to the Nov 2025 release and still the same problem.
Kind regards
Hi @iruobe19 ,
Thanks for checking and confirming the update. Since the November 2025 version still shows the same behaviour and the report-level map option isn’t available for you, it’s likely that your build is still affected by the known bug.
You can try resetting Power BI Desktop settings by going to File > Options > Global > Restore Defaults and then restarting the app. If that doesn’t help, a full uninstall and reinstall of the November build sometimes fixes the issue because the in-place update doesn’t always clear the old configuration.

Thanks for the reply menakakota,
I did do a full uninstall of the old PBID and installed the November build but still can't activate the filled map visuals.
I did some research online and got some credible info this could be as a result of regional restrictions because I also can't sign in to my PBID with my outlook email account.
Kind regards
