In the image above on PowerBI Desktop, I can't seem to get certain teritories to fill in without the compromise of affecting other states switching to cities to fill in the map e.g. New York -> New York City [New York, New York]
All other forums online may address one issue, but seemingly have not yeilded the desired operation.
I would greatly appreciate guidance on this and some background as to how this issue has been around for nearly 10 years.
Thank you!
hi @preston-t
Ensure that your geographic fields (like state and city) are formatted correctly. In PowerBI, they should be set to ‘Geography’ with the appropriate sub-type (e.g., ‘City’ or ‘State/Province’).
Sometimes you might need to merge fields to create a full address or geographic identifier that PowerBI can recognize. For example, you might need to concatenate ‘City’, ‘State’, and ‘Country’ into one field.
Hi @hackcrr! Thanks for your response. I am currently only using State / Territory. I had already attempted to add ', United Sates' at the end of every State or Territory and this did not resolve the issue with territories. For setting the geography I have selected the data category of "State or Province" from the table view for said column. In PQE I do not see an option for anything other than the standard data types for selecting.
