File association does not work when install PBI desktop from store

I have been using pbi with manual install, but that way updating was painful, however, now we have the store available in the company, so I switched and installed PBI Desktop from there. Now my *.pbix file association is screwed, and I am not able to select PBI as default, as it is not in the list, and the folder where the store installs PBI is protected, so I am not able to open that...

Any solution for that?

HI @Anonymous,

Please use 'control panel -> uninstall a program' to uninstall power bi application. If file association broken is caused with manually delete power bi desktop install folder, I also not have any effective solution to solve it. 

Maybe you can try to uninstall in control panel and re-setting restore version as default open method or reinstall desktop file to replace original one.

BTW, there are not conflict between store version and normal version, you can install them in same device.
