I have created a slicer to add a dynamic x-axis to my charts using the preview feature described in this video -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1eurc0EY2Xg
Is it possible to have the selection from this slicer sync with and update a second slicer. For example:
Slicer 1: Say I have two columns, 'Job title' and 'Department' and I use these columns to create a slicer via field parameters. I want to use this slicer to update the x-axis on a column chart.
The 'Job title' column includes roles 'A', 'B' and 'C' and the 'Department' column has departments 'X', 'Y' and 'Z'.
Can I create a second slicer that updates upon selection of slicer 1? So if 'Job title' is chosen, slicer two updates to show 'A', 'B' and 'C' and if 'Department' is chosen the list updates to 'X', 'Y' and 'Z'?
Ultimately the user could then select 'Job title' from slicer 1, then remove 'B' from slicer 2 and be left with a column chart that compares 'A' and 'C'.
Thanks.
Hi @Anonymous ,
According to my knowledge, you can use sync slicer to achieve this goal.
You can also sync two or more separate slicers. Syncing slicers is useful when working with composite models, as you might want to make the same selection across sources without relying on cross-source group relationships. To sync two or more separate slicers, you should mark them as being part of a group.
