Field Parameters and Calculation Groups-Single click to update both columns and measures in Power BI
πΊ Recently I did a #video on field parameters vs calculation groups to showcase when you need to switch from field parameters to calculation groups. The link to this #video is in the comments.
π’ In this NEW video, we will explore how we can take advantage of both field parameters and calculation groups. How with a single selection we can change both columns and measures in the reports.
π€It will help to develop user-friendly reports (fewer clicks) and scalable solutions.

Interesting technique, thanks for sharing it.
I have a couple of points. You don't mention calculation group precedence in the video. Presumably the second group you added, which transfers the filter from the field parameter table to the time intelligence calculation group, needs to have the higher precedence ?
Also, instead of the MAXX ... SUMMARIZE you use to get the value from the field parameter table, I think you could have used TREATAS( VALUES('Period'[Period]), 'Time intelligence'[Period])

johnt75 good point on precedence. Usually, I do mention that in my videos and also share the link of a video that I did on precedence. Will keep this in future videos. Thank you!
Regarding TREATAS, yes that would work but I wanted to point out SELECTEDVALUE when working with Field Parameters. I do appreciate the feedback and input.
I hope others find your feedback useful and learn from it.
