Field Parameter that flips in Slicer vs Visual?
Hi everyone -
I'm loving the new Field Parameter option but I have a concept I can't seem to bring to life. Imagine a pivot table where your users regularly swap your Row field for your Page field. I'd like to use a Field Parameter the same way so that when Option A is selected in the slicer, that option becomes my matrix visual Row field while option B becomes the driver for another Slicer. Then, if they pick option B, that becomes the matrix Row field while A becomes the slicer field.
In specific terms, I'd like to give the user a simple method to switch between a matrix segmented by Country with a Year slicer, over to the same matrix segmented by Year with a Country slicer.
Is this possible? When I try to just replicate the Paramter and switch the field order I get an error of "multiple columns cannot be converted to a scalar value".

You are trying to mix dimensions (columns/multivalues) with facts (measures/scalars). That only works with implicit measures (and only sometimes - for example it won't work in "Analyze in Excel").
What you can try is to use the "Personalize Visuals" feature instead. It can do everything that Field Parameters can do (and more) but it is a little more nerdy/requires more user training.
