Feature Request: Multi-Select (Box Select) for Tables in Power BI Model View

Currently, in Power BI Model View, users can only move one table at a time. This limitation makes it cumbersome to rearrange models, especially in complex datasets where tables need to be grouped and repositioned efficiently.

I propose adding a multi-select (box select) feature that allows users to select multiple tables at once and move them together. This would function similarly to selecting multiple objects in diagramming tools (e.g., dragging a selection box around tables or using Ctrl+Click to select multiple tables).

Expected Behavior:

  1. Users can click and drag to draw a selection box around multiple tables.
  2. Users can Ctrl+Click individual tables to add or remove them from the selection.
  3. Once multiple tables are selected, dragging any one of them moves all selected tables together.
  4. Alignment and spacing remain preserved when tables are moved as a group.

Benefits:

  • Improved Efficiency – Saves time when reorganizing complex models.
  • Better Usability – Allows users to maintain logical table groupings more easily.
  • Enhanced Organization – Helps in structuring models neatly without needing to move each table separately.

This feature would greatly enhance Power BI’s usability for data modelers and make Model View interactions more intuitive. Thank you for considering this request!

Priority: High (would benefit all Power BI users working with complex models)
