Failed to save modifications to the server. Error returned: 'DirectQuery partition has '0' datasourc

Hi,

I'm trying to import different functions with no imput parameters from an on-premise SQL Server Database into PBI Desktop in Direct Query mode. It's all working good except for only one function that loads into Transform Data layer, so apparently it is working. But when it comes to load it into report (Close&Apply), it generates the following error message just before to evaluate the data model relationships:

"Failed to save modifications to the server. Error returned: 'DirectQuery partition 'fnBI001GetTestSampleGroupData-b67c5fb8-931d-4b80-a186-085dac875699' has '0' datasource reference(s) in its expression which is not allowed. '. "

I already tried ti disable the "Store dataset using enhanced metadata format" and other options like "Automatic Relationship detection"
I'm also been adviced that September 2020 release SHOULD fix this issue, but such release it is not available yet.

Do you have any other ideas? Maybe faced the same problem and found a solution?

Thanks,
Francesco

Updating to version 2.85.985.0 from the Microsoft Store fixed this error for me.

Yes, if you notice I already asked a question 😂 but no useful answer yet.

Hi , @fam

You can get the latest version(2.85.681.0 64-bit September 2020) of Power BI Desktop from the Download Center now.

Does the problem still exist in the new version?

Yes I've seen that. We still have to perform some test though. I'll keep you updated. Thanks
