Just in case you still have May version and want to begin to install September version. What happens. Desktop client is trying to install Webview 2 as sub process of installation. If you launch desktop client and gets stuck in launch window, you have to as first to delete folder C:\ProgramFilesx84/Microsoft/EdgeWebView, then uninstall Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime, then download WebView2 evergreen boothstrapper from https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/webview2/
Maybe reboot laptop and then its should be fine.
