Hi Gurus,
When exporting a table from desktop to excel, new colomns appear to be created by cells with the character "-" which excels treats as a tab or new coloumn? Eg I have a PBI table with 10 columns but when exported to excel appears as 13. Any ideas how to fix this?
I've tried pasting special as unitext or text but didn't make any difference.

You can use Dax Studio and easily export each table to Excel

This works but doesn't explain as to why this is happening? It is a recent occurance as I used to be able to copy to excel without issues.

If you can provide some screenshots of the steps that do not include privacy, or describe the steps you have taken, it will help me answer your questions.
In my tests, if I export the data in the table visual, it is saved as a csv file by default, as shown in the following image:
