External Tool Measure Killer not finding file
- 1 year ago
Ah, gotcha — if you don’t have Admin rights and can’t run Measure Killer as admin, that definitely limits a few options.
Here’s a workaround you can try:
- Instead of launching Measure Killer directly, try opening it from within Power BI Desktop using the External Tools ribbon. That way, it inherits the same context/session as your open PBIX file.
- Also, make sure the PBIX file is saved locally (not on a network drive or synced folder like OneDrive), as some tools have trouble resolving paths in those cases.
- If your model is large or has complex relationships, it might take a few seconds for Measure Killer to detect it — give it a bit of time after launching.
If none of that works, you might need to ask IT to run it once as admin just to verify if that’s the blocker.
Let me know how it goes!
