Exporting Power BI visuals to PowerPoint

Hello Power BI community,

I have the following questions:

  1. Is it possible to export the visuals I created from my dashboard into a PowerPoint slide? If yes, what are the steps to do so?
  2. If yes to question number 1 above, would the visuals be updated automtically on the PowerPoint slide when I update my Power BI dashboard?

Regards,

Gus Dahu

Not in Desktop and in the Full Version I believe that still does not exist.

Hi,

Is there a solution that I can export the visuals into PowerPoint without signing in, publishing to the web, and downloading the PowerPoint add-ins?

Thank you!

Hi @gusdahu, If you just want to display the live visuals, you can try Power Bi Mobile app. It's free from microsoft and so easy to use.  I found  this app is more user friendly compared to Power BI visuals. We use this app to display live reports in a TV in the office and it works very well.

Hi @gusdahu

1. Yes you can implement this functionality through Power Bi Tiles.

2. Power Bi Tileshas PowerBI Tiles Online and Desktop version. The visuals embedded with PowerBI Tiles Online refresh automatically. The visuals embedded with PowerBI Tiles desktop are refreshed on-demand.

Hi drisha,

Do you have instructions on how to embedd my Power Point with Power BI tiles?

Regards,

Gus Dahu

Hi @gusdahu

Unfortunately the refreshing functionality is not working properly. You need to re open the PPT every time to refresh the data.

1. First you need to activate the Power BI Tiles License.

2. Open Power Point, go to Insert tab-->My Add-ins-->Power Bi Tiles--> Go to your power bi work space -->Insert the pages from your report to PPT.

Hi @drishya ,

I could not locate the option "Power BI Tiles" under My Add-ins. Is there another why I can add Power BI Tiles?

Regards,

Gus Dahu

Hi @gusdahu  you need to buy the license first, the add in will display only when you activate the license. You can contact http://www.devscope.net/Contacts/Support.aspx to know more about license.

Hi @drishya ,

I have the Power BI Pro license. Is this the license I need or is there another license I should get?

Regards,

Gus Dahu

Hi @gusdahu ,

You need Power BI Tiles license. PowerBI Tiles Pro has two versions and each has a trial version:

- The Online only enables you to access your "My Workspace". If you acquire the paid version (49,99€ per license perpetual license), you'll be able to access and embed visuals from all workspaces your account has access to.

- The Desktop enables you to access all workspaces but the visuals will appear with a watermark.

With the Online version, you can access your visuals “live” as if you were on Power BI Online and by sharing the document, only people with access to the workspace will be able to see them. Sharing with Desktop enables to share visuals with anyone because they'll be embedded as still images.

I had Power Bi Tiles License, but still I am struggling to refresh power point slides. Autorefresh functionality is not supporting in Power Point Slides so we need to reload the slides manually.  I suggest you to contact support@devscope.net team. They will provide you better solution to implement the functionality.

Seems like the only way you can integrate Power BI dashboards into Power Point is vis Power BI tiles. ( if you want to refresh the power point slides). If you want to have static dashboard in Power Point then you cna export them directly from Power Bi to Power Point, but then you cannot refresh them? Correct?

Thank you
