Export to excel in PowerBi app is disabled

Hi all,

I have a PowerBI app for a workspace. I have added an user as audience to the app . Now the user has opened the app. and Export to excel excel is disabled. I tired giving the build, reshare, and all the permissions to the semantic model but that user is not able to export to excel .

Appreciate your guidance on how to make that enabled !!

Regards,

Kishor.

please confirm that you have given build access to that audience and that the audience members have clicked on the app link at least once after that.

Please do not allow reshare - you lose all control that way.

Do you mean Analyze in Excel? Have all the prerequisites for this been met?

Hi @Ramkishor - can you also check at Power BI Admin Portal → admin.powerbi.co

Navigate to Tenant Settings → Export and sharing settings

Find "Export to Excel" and ensure it's Enabled

Make sure the setting applies to the user's security group (or "The entire organization")

note: even if a user has full semantic model permissions, tenant settings can block export entirely.

Hi @lbendlin,

Thanks for your response!!.

I gave build access and added the audience and opened the app with link and now the user is able to see Analyze in  Excel .Could you please let me know what type of permissions that user can get if we provide build access to the semantic model ?

Kishor.
