Export to PDF error (zoomed in)

Ive just upgraded to the latest version of Power Bi Desktop and now when I try to export any report to a PDF it exports as though i've zoomed into the report and only displays the top left quarter of it.

Any suggestions?

Hi @jamieham and All,

Please try update the Microsoft  Edge webview2 runtime to see if it works.

Steps: Go to 'Add or Remove Programs' then search for Webview and click on Modify. Then select the option to 'Repair' and it will update it to the latest version. Note that you will need admin rights to install the latest version.

Glad to see I'm not alone in this.  Rather frustrating!

I can confirm this issue appeared over the past few days for mulitple people at my workplace - it worked fine on Friday 10/20/2023, not working on Monday 10/23/2023. Publishing to PowerBI web is a workaround however customized font gets lost. We are on the October 2023 version.

Is there a way to receive real-time updates on the known issue?

For what it's worth: we're still on the June 2023 edition and experiencing this bug as well. Also checked an October 2023 installation: same issue.

Hi @jamieham ,

This issue has been confirmed as a known issue internally. Please be patient to wait for fixing. If there is any news, I will update it here.

Workaround: You can publish your report to PowerBI.com and export to PDF from the browser

@Anonymous Any update on this? To your suggestion, uploading to the Power BI service and exporting is a short term workaround but not sustainable as we have several key processes that rely on Desktop files that can't go into the cloud for security/data privacy concerns.

Hi,

thank you for your update.

Waiting for resolving the issue as i also faced it this morning with export to PDF and all pages were zoomed and cropped.

@Anonymous - Any update on when this issue will be resolved?

What is this a bug with? We are on Power BI Desktop (September 2022) and has been working fine with Export to PDF. We have not updated the client and now we are getting the zoomed in bug - is this a Windows update that has caused this?

Thanks

I've looked into it and it seems like a problem view WebView2, which was updated with Microsoft Edge, and we can't roll back it 🤡

As this problem impacts just a minority of Power BI users, I believe it will take a long time for them to hear us and fix it...

Hi,

I have exactly the same problem since yesterday. I was wondering if it was related to my new page with a letter format, but maybe it's a temporary bug.
