Hello, a collague has created a report using semantic model as data set. I am contributor and now owner of the data. I want to dowload the report to my desktop to make changes on data but when i download the file, data view does not appear.
How can i export the report and data set, querry view altogether to be able to edit?
no data view
hello @Anonymous ,
yes, the thing is that this report is connected to a published dataset, so inorder to do changes in the data, you need to download the published dataset and do the changes then publish it again the refresh your report.

@Anonymous , Make sure you are downloading with an option, a copy of your data. Prefer to download from the file having the same name as the dataset(In case of import mode)
I did.
I only see this option when i download the report file
If i download the semantic model, this "what do you want to dowlaod" queations, does not appear
@Anonymous ,
because the semantic model is in another published report.

I go to data source setting on my report and i can see the semantic models it is linked to. the following options appear:
and if i try to export the following appears:
Any help on what this could mean?
Thank you
@Anonymous ,
can you try finding the published power bi report that your report is reading from, it's totally different report that has a dataset and your power bi report is connected to this dataset.
check this to know what I mean https://powerbi.microsoft.com/it-ch/blog/connecting-to-datasets-in-the-power-bi-service-from-desktop/#:~:text=Navigate%20to%20File%20%3E%20Options%20and,the%20option%20to%20take%20effect.
