Hey @Garbo62 ,
You're trying to use the "Export Document" option in a Power BI PDF Viewer custom visual. You can export CSV data, so this isn't a blanket restriction across all exports. So Power BI Admin Portal Settings is the root cause of this error. Export data or Custom visuals settings Under: Admin Portal → Tenant Settings
You’ll need to check:
“Allow visuals to use script or code”
“Block download of files from visuals” – if enabled, this could block file download from custom visuals like your PDF viewer.
Export reports as PDF, PowerPoint, or print: Should be enabled.
Export to Excel or Export data: Already working for you.
Custom Visual Settings → Use certified and non-certified visuals: Should be enabled.
Go to https://app.powerbi.com
Click the Settings gear icon → Admin Portal (you must be a tenant admin)
Under “Tenant settings”:
Export reports as PowerPoint/PDF/Print → Enabled
Export data → Enabled
Use custom visuals → Enabled
Allow visuals to use code/script → Enabled
Block download of files from visuals → Disabled
If "Block download of files from visuals" is enabled, turn it off, save the setting, and retry.
