Hey @Garbo62 ,

You're trying to use the "Export Document" option in a Power BI PDF Viewer custom visual. You can export CSV data, so this isn't a blanket restriction across all exports. So Power BI Admin Portal Settings is the root cause of this error. Export data or Custom visuals settings Under: Admin Portal → Tenant Settings

You’ll need to check:

  • “Allow visuals to use script or code”

  • “Block download of files from visuals” – if enabled, this could block file download from custom visuals like your PDF viewer.

  • Export reports as PDF, PowerPoint, or print: Should be enabled.

  • Export to Excel or Export data: Already working for you.

  • Custom Visual Settings → Use certified and non-certified visuals: Should be enabled.

Solution May Be:

Step 1: Open Power BI Admin Portal

Step 2: Review and Adjust These Settings

Under “Tenant settings”:

Export Settings

  • Export reports as PowerPoint/PDF/Print → Enabled

  • Export data → Enabled

Custom Visuals

  • Use custom visuals → Enabled

  • Allow visuals to use code/script → Enabled

  • Block download of files from visuals → Disabled

If "Block download of files from visuals" is enabled, turn it off, save the setting, and retry.
