I need some ideas for the best approach.

I am building a dashboard or app (not sure which is most better suited) that needs to reflect slides from multiple different department dashboards.   I made copies of the dashboards and put them in the exec sandbox.  I understand that these will automatically update when data changes.

I attempted to pin visuals, but the text does not update even when refreshed.  Not sure what I am doing wrong.   For example, I pinned the word "Claims" to the Exec Dashboard, then changed it to "Claims test" on the source, and it did not change on the Exec Dashboard.

I then built an app, using the dashboards in the workspace.  Will the app update or will I have refresh it weekly and monthly?  Will the text in the visuals refresh? 

Which is the best approach for an Exec dashboard that shows changes in text and data?  Thanks so much for your time.

When you pin an artifact its meta data gets frozen, and will never change again.  Dashboard updates will only include data changes.  Any meta data changes you make to the parent report visual will not be reflected in the dashboard until you delete and re-pin the tile.
