thankyou for your suggestion amitchandak , however I realised that I had installed a 32-bit version instead of a 64-bit version... hence issue is resolved now.

Super Userkimloh_p , Try to reduce data in your tables.
Increase data management cache(8-10 GB), also make sure hard drive has sufficient free space
