Excel to Power Bi challenge

One of my team members created this timeline in Excel.    He says he used the a plot diagram to do it.    Trying to figure out the best way to tackle this in Power Bi.    Some unique challenges: 

 

1.  The main date line has to represent two distinct sets of dates.    One is the Order date  (reprsented by the "CO-xxxx"), and the other is an item return date...represented by "RMA-xxxx".      I do have a date table, so my thinking was to set both dates on the Order table and Return (RMA) table as the primary connections to the date table.     Then use the date table as the main date line. 

 

2. The other challenge is that he has added the order numbers and the ordered qty.    And the RMA number and RMA qty.    Again, these are in two separate tables.   

 

3.  Seems like he's staggered the bars....one up....one down...one up...one down.....

 

Any feedback on how to achieve this in Power Bi would be great!

    You can safely throw them all together into one table, assuming orders are always positive and RMAs are always negative.

    Use a standard bar chart (with narrow bars).

    Use a calendar table for the x axis.

    Make it a categorical axis and "show items with no data" to make sure the axis is correct.
