I inherited a PBI project done by a coworker. He was not terribly familar with DAX so he took some shortcuts and did all of the data manipulation and calculations in Excel, which in turn has two data connections to two different SharePoint lists.
I've moved the Excel file to an online SharePoint docment folder and redirected the data connection to there. I then set up the actual report to auto-refresh once every 24 hours. I'd like this to also trigger a refesh in the Excel data connections so there's no user intervention necessary.
Is this possible? Our SharePoint is all hosted in the cloud (except restricted data, which this is not).
Hi @Anonymous ,
It's not possible to trigger a refesh in the Excel data connections from PowerBI end, but you can configure a auto-update for the Excel on Sharepoint, please refer to this demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=10yLQNklKOU

Thanks, but this seemed about embedding Excel into web parts. I saw no menion of auto-updating anything.
