Hi dean_flynn,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.Since you have already opened a support ticket with Microsoft, this is the appropriate step for a deeper investigation, particularly if it involves environment specific behaviour or requires backend review. While you are working with the support team, please continue to share any updates here. If a solution has been found, it would be greatly appreciated if you could share your insights with the community. This would be helpful for other members who may encounter similar issues.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I've tried each of these suggestions to no avail. I have now opened a ticket with Microsoft. This is very frustrating.

Hello. No, unfortunately it isn't resolved yet. A Support Engineer from the Power BI & Data Platform team responded and asked for more detail, which I gave them.
They then came back to say that they feel it's an Excel problem rather than a Power BI problem, and so they passed my case off to the Excel support team on Friday 8-Jun. Excel team checked in to say they are very busy and will be in touch soon, so I'm waiting for that follow up.

Hi dean_flynn,
Thank you for the update, and I’m sorry to hear that the issue is still ongoing. It’s reassuring to know that the Power BI support team has followed up and is actively collaborating with the Excel team. I understand that the handover might cause some delays, particularly if the Excel team is handling a high volume of cases.
If there's anything we can help clarify from the Power BI side during this time, please let us know. We will do our best to assist or escalate further if necessary.
We appreciate your patience and hope the Excel team can provide a resolution soon.
Thank you for using the Microsoft Community Forum.
