Even possible with Power BI yet?

Being asked if its possible to take our comission dashboard into power BI.  Currently, it's run internally on a Node.JS app which is using Office 365 as its credential source.

The data is housed internally and we have an API that is checking using JWT, local IP and user permission what data they can access.

If we throw a power BI dashboard up, what info can we grab from power BI to pass into the API call to say "hey, grab Jim's info and show it to him."  Is that even possible?  Can we use the users AzureAD ID as a parameter into an API call from within Power BI?

The API now allows a user to pick a start and end year and returns all twelve months of data so no pagination is needed. What is needed is for the advisor using the dashboard to send their "name" in the query or at least some form of token to identify who they are.

@gmerideth , Usually we prefer to load the data in Power BI and then do this type of analysis. Can we get all the data from API. You can paginate if you want
