Essbase (Beta) Connector

Hi, 

I am trying out the new ESSBASE (Beta) connector on Power BI desktop. 

I took the following steps: 

1) Enter server

2) Enter credentials 

Getting an error message: 

For security reasons DTD is prohibited in this XML document. To enable DTD processing set the DtdProcessing property on XmlReaderSettings to Parse and pass the settings into XmlReader.Create method.

Any idea how to address the issue? It would be super cool to connect to Essbase directly.

Hi @Anonymous

you should use the server connection string like this

http://server: port/aps/XMLA

@Anonymous I was wondering how you were able to fix the "For security reasons DTD is prohibited in this XML document". I tried the URL provided (/aps/XMLA) but I still get this error.

I think this issue is more related to your datasource itself, the error message also told about this:

For security reasons DTD is prohibited in this XML document. To enable DTD processing set the DtdProcessing property on XmlReaderSettings to Parse and pass the settings into XmlReader.Create method.

Any idea how I can fix this? Do I go somewhere in settings?

Also, Essbase normally uses TCP/IP but there is a Java API so I guess that could be dumping out XML stuff
