Error with ODBC connection
Hi all!
I’m connecting to an Oracle table in Power BI using an ODBC connector. The table contains 900,000 records. Why am I getting this error?

Likely causes:
Long-running query: Large table or complex query causes the ODBC driver/Oracle to time out.
Default timeout settings: Both the ODBC data source and Power BI have timeouts that may be too low for the initial load.
Memory/size limits: Power BI Desktop may struggle with very large result sets; loading all 900k rows at once can blow memory.
Network/infrastructure timeout: If you’re connecting to a remote Oracle instance, network latency can trigger timeouts.
Inefficient query: Selecting all columns or using functions in Oracle can slow things down.
Steps you can try to fix:Load only needed data
Break the load into smaller chunks,
Use filtering (WHERE clause) to load a subset (e.g., by date ranges or partitions).
