Error while trying to load data from SAP HANA to Power BI

Hi All ,

I am trying to connect to SAP HANA views from Power BI desktop. I am able to see the views from the HANA system , but when I try to select measures / dimensions from HANA I am facing the error :

[SAP AG][LIBODBCHDB DLL][HDBODBC] General error;258 insufficient privilege: [2950] user is not authorized :

Is this error on HANA side or Power BI side ?

Note : The HANA team have setup PBI roles and given access to my windows account.

Thanks

Hi @ramkula123 ,

You have to have at least Object privilege which is used to allow access to and modification of database objects, such as tables and views. Depending on the object type, different actions can be authorized (for example, SELECT, CREATE ANY, ALTER, DROP, and so on).

Reference:

Troubleshooting SAP HANA Privileges and Authorisations

_SYS_BIC: SAP DBTech JDBC: [258]: insufficient privilege: Not authorized
