Hi,
I have successfuly pulled Page Title, Pageviews, Hostname, and various time fields from Google Analytics into Query editor, but when I try and select 'Page' I get this error;
DataSource.Error: Requested 8 dimensions; only 7 are allowed.
Details:
DataSourceKind=GoogleAnalytics
DataSourcePath=GoogleAnalytics
error=Record
Can anyone help?
Thanks
I have the exactly same problem. Did you find something in the meanwhile?
Not yet unfortunately. I am hoping my manager will be able to tell me today or tomorrow - if he works it out I will post here.
Your error is pretty clear, because it seems there is a limit of dimensions. I tried to pull only 'Page' and 'Date' in order to match SKU product from the link with the sales info from ERP. The real problem is that this is a huge amount of info and the request times out.
The only way we managed to find for this problem is to pre-filter all this info somehow. We use a connector to pull the data into SQL Server and from there everything is more easier:)
The data retrieval from Google Analytics is based on GA conntector which relies on Google Analytics Reporting API. Please consult Google Analytics support: https://developers.google.com/analytics/help/
Regards,
I have noticed this error also occurs with Page path 1, Page path 2 etc as well as Page depth...
