Error when publishing a report with a live connection to the Power BI Service.

Hi all!

I created a streaming report on Power BI by connecting to an API table using a live connection. There is no scheduling because the report updates live.

When I publish the report from Desktop to Power BI Service, I receive this error.

For example, if I have a report on Desktop and I want to overwrite a version present on Service, after publishing, I am unable to view the updated report. However, if I publish it with a different name, I can see the changes.

Could someone help me?

Thank you.

Hi @Fern_21

Just as audreygerred post that clearing cache may solve the problem, here are some steps for your reference:

Ensure that the dataset settings in Power BI Service are configured correctly. Sometimes, the settings might need to be adjusted to allow for live updates.

If overwriting the existing report is causing issues, consider using version control. Publish the report with a different name, verify the changes, and then delete the old version if everything looks good.

Here are some workarounds for your reference:

Hi @v-zhengdxu-msft !
Publishing under a different name does not help me because I have to be able to overwrite the report with the same name. Initially it did not happen.

Hi @Fern_21

I did the test, but unfortunately I can not rproduce your issue.

Given I have so little information at this time, I can't tell what's causing your problem.

You can create a support ticket for free and a dedicated Microsoft engineer will come to solve the problem for you.

It would be great if you continue to share in this issue to help others with similar problems after you know the root cause or solution.

Hi! When I have seen this error in the past it was resolved by clearing the cache. Go to File > Options and Settings > Data Load then clear the cache.
