Error occured while rendering the report

Anyone know how to get rid of this error:

The viz in question is a simple slicer with a date hierarchy and after a slight change in the model, this error is presented and I'm unable to do anything. I can't remove the slicer as the menu does not open and any changes I make in the fields or visualizations pane only serve to return the same error message.

Hi @wynhodgkiss ,

After force-quitting powerbi with Task Manager, turn off the following functions in options and setting->options, then reopen powerbi and try again.

If the problem is still not resolved, please provide detailed error information and let me know immediately. Looking forward to your reply.
