Error connecting to Intune Data Warehouse

I took over a power bi report that is using the Intune Data Warehouse connector in power query.
But even if i grant myself Intune Administrator role I keep getting this error:
Details: "Intune: Request failed: Unable to connect to the remote server"

has anyone else seen this and knows what is wrong?

Thanks!

Wait for role propagation, clear Power BI credentials, re-login, and ensure network access + Intune license.

I raised a ticket last week, but after an initial phonecall where it became clear it wasn't a simple credential issue, Microsoft has gone radio silent.

Further investigation shows that the Intune DataWarehouse OData connection still works in Excel, but continues to fail in Fabric/Power BI. There must be something wrong with an authentication server/service for an internal connection between Fabric/Power BI and the Intune DataWarehouse that's bypassed when the connection is made externally through Excel desktop.

I lost an existing Intune data warehouse connection in Fabric/Power BI on Nov 20 and have had intermittent connectivity since then. The Fabric connection had been working fine for 3 months. Both the semantic model created by Microsoft's Intune Compliance app and any attempt to connect to the OData feed URL provided by Intune return "Unable to connect to server" errors. I was able to connect to the OData feed in Excel, but I need the Fabric/Power BI connection to drive Intune enrollment reports.

A ticket created with MS Support is being passed back and forth between Fabric and Power BI teams with the same sorts of suggestions as given by grazitti_sapna above. They don't work. This appears to be a OAuth or some other credentialling issue between the Fabric/Power BI systems and the Intune OData source. We've even had intermittent issues getting new devices to enroll in Intune: they'll appear in Entra and are connected to the assigned user, but won't show up in Intune or allow the user to sign in for 6-12 hours when they finally register.

Has anyone else tried multiple avenues to try connecting to the Intune OData feed from Fabric/Power BI with success in the last few days?

Hi @testing_and_mor

Here are quick checks:

  • Ensure you have explicit Intune Data Warehouse permissions, which may be separate from the Intune Admin role.
  • Verify your network or firewall isn’t blocking access to the Intune Data Warehouse endpoint.
  • Double-check your Power Query connection settings and re-authenticate in Power BI Desktop.
  • Check the Microsoft 365 Service Health dashboard for any outages affecting Intune services

If the problem persists try enabling query diagnostics in Power Query for more details to troubleshoot further and let us know we can look into this further.
