Error bars, reference lines, trend lines, etc. for line charts. Did Power BI get rid of them?

I've got the latest version of Power BI. I don't see these options in the desktop or service anymore. Am I missing something?

Hi @Anonymous ,

In the latest version of destkop, the location of some visual function items has been adjusted. You can find Error bars, reference lines, trend lines, etc. in the following locations.

I'm using bar chart, i want to do the below as shown off youtube tutorial below which will require me to use reference line (not really constant line)

However, exactly the same like you, underneath plot area background there IS NO Such thing as Reference line. HMMM this is quite annoying. I'm on PowerBI Version: 2.128.1380.0 64-bit (April 2024)

Hey @Anonymous ,

for me it's all still there:

Can you make sure you are using a line chart and not one of the other charts?

Did you try to restart Power BI?

Is the value on the Y-Axis really a number or decimal number?

Best regards

Denis

Hi @selimovd,

Yes, I have restarted the application. I even uninstalled and reinstalled. I definitely have line chart selected. The field on the y-axis is only numeric values.

I've gone back to old reports where I've used these options and don't see them there anymore either.

Hey @Anonymous ,

try the following file, it should look like this:

If that is displayed correctly, maybe check if you can re-create the file with your installed version.

Find the file attached.

Best regards

Denis

Downloaded and opened. No options to format error bars when selecting this visual: Capture2.PNG
