Error: Token '=' expected. Start position: (1, 29). End position (1, 32).
I am getting this error immediately after attempting to refresh any Power BI report through Power BI deskstop. I have reviewed all queries in the advanced editor and none of them have any syntax errors. The error presents so quickly, it doesn't appear to be a data issue and I have been able to replicate this in multiple environments using a variety of credentials.
Does anyone have a resolution to this issue?

Hi @DRogue ,

After trying to install the August version of Power BI Desktop the problem was solved, if updating to the latest version does not work, you can take this method into consideration, this is the download link:

I'm getting the same error to when trying to refresh in the desktop version. Error comes up as soon as the refresh start and zero changes were made to the file.
I've tried downloading a copy from the online version and still the same issue when refreshing in desktop.

Hi @Iffy_01 , the solution is to uninstall the September version of Power BI desktop and reinstall the August version. I have reported the issue multiple times - hoping Microsoft will address this soon.

@DRogue That's interesting. Not sure what to say. I have no idea where to start at my end. I hope someone else can chime in. I'm not aware of any issue, using the most recent version.

@DRogue weird, how many tables do you have? Do all the tables use the parameter? How about if you enter the same parameter value in the Power BI desktop, and in transform data, refresh each table manually? Not sure how else to debug this.

@parry2k It seems more global than that. I have several reports and several environments. It is happening across all of them. This just started happening this week. Everything was fine last week and nothing was changed between then and now. Someone said something about a bad desktop install file so that's why I tried that route. Still getting the error. 😞

@DRogue what happens if you click refresh all in transform data, see which table is giving the error, and go from there.

@parry2k It doesn't get that far. None of the queries have any errors, syntax or otherwise. I even installed the latest version and still get the error. When the report launches I have a parameter for the environment as soon as I enter that and click load, the refresh starts and the error immediately pops up.
