This is a basic data source connected to a SQL server, with no transformations otherwise. How can I troubleshoot and resolve this error?

Hi @Gattato,

Based on my research, I found one possibility that publishing a PBIX file in which measures have the same name as a table to the service will fail. So, did you create any measure that share the same name with any tables. If yes, please rename them and publish the file again.

Besides, what operations did you do in the .pbix file? Did this error always prompt when you publish any .pbix file? If the datasource is not SQL server, can you publish to service successfully?

Thanks,
Yuliana Gu

Hey @Gattato,

Are you running the latest version? I created a connection to our SQL Server (basic query) this morning and had no errors. Also, have you installed and configured a data gateway?

Current version is: 2.40.4554.463 64-bit (October, 2016)

Best,

Alan

I am running the latest version of Power BI, and I do have a data gateway setup, configured and showing online as well.

@Gattato Double check your data gateway configuration. I have a personal data gateway configured and I just connected to SQL Server and published.

Also, I would hit the "Send Frown" to give feedback to PBI support.

Thank you. I've done so and it shows it tests successfully. Very frustrating.

I did also "send a frown". Thanks!
