Do you use the 64-bit and latest version of Power BI Desktop(2.79.5768.721) to connect to the data source? Please follow the guide in this document to connect to Hive data source by installing Microsoft Hive ODBC Driver and check if you get any errors.

Where is the documentation for downloading the driver in MSDocs? Kindly point me to the documentation.
