Error - DataFormat.Error: We couldn't convert to Number. -> happens after unpivoting

Hi,

I have similar Excel reports which I combine and load to PBI. They are formed in a way that each month's invoicing is a new column which means I have lots of columns which I would like to convert to rows by unpivoting. However, after unpivoting I get the above error. In addition, I can manage to get this error by doing dome basic filtering. Where should I start?

Note. There might by some odd rows in the end of the files but these does not seem to affect the loading to PBI reporting since this only happens after unpivoting (and some filtering).

    Hi Anonymous,

Please check the data type of each month's invoicing column after loading data to Power BI desktop.

What are the odd rows? Please show us sample data. If possible, please send me your excel files so that I can test on my side.
